About Me

My photo
I graduated from one of the most prestigious schools, got my bachelors and masters in engineering, had a promising career, and had wonderful, beautiful children. By all accounts and appearances, it would have appeared for a long time that I had a great, picturesque life, but underneath it all, I was married to someone who was diagnosed as being narcissistic. My nightmare started almost immediately after I married this person who was Jekyl and Hyde. I want to share my experiences and to let you know what I had to sacrifice and do to get away from this person. My journey still continues as I am still working to fully recover from experiencing this person in my life. I don't think anyone ever really recovers from dealing with such a monster.

Sara Bareilles - King Of Anything

  1. I must have listened to this song thousands of times this past year. This song beautifully states what it is like dealing with a narcissist. I love how she states:
But you expect me to jump up on board with you,
And ride off into your delusional sunset,
I’m not the one who’s lost with no direction, But you’ll never see

The best thing to do when dealing with a narcissist is to get off the crazy bus and brush off all the nonsense this person will throw at you. Realizing that what this person says to try to hurt you has no validity, truth and is completely delusional is the first step I needed to take. I still fall into his traps of lies and deceits at times because he is so good at it, but after a day or two I realize just how irrational believing the lies and drinking the cool-aid is!
